The music is good. It`s like an ad and you hope that they`ll show Cheers in syndication but it`s just a restaurant.
It`s ironic that it`s called Kelsey`s, like Kelsey Grammer or Frasier Crane.

I think you are right about the sentiment regarding this ad. I wonder how long it will be around … i could see them trying to keep spinning this cheers theme for a while.

I have never had a great dining experience at kelsey’s – probably never will. I never paid much attention to the ads, except for a quick warm feeling in my stomach when the song starts, but my wife is appalled.

I have a feeling this sentiment is pretty widespread and I wouldn’t be surprised if the campaign is short lived.

Won’t be too long until the Friends themesong shows up in ads. Won’t that be fantastic?

I think my biggest gripe is the fact that they have taken the familiar music from Cheers and repurposed it in a way that leverages an iconic show to serve a chain restaurant.

It’s soooo strange to see these kind of ads because in France apart from MacDos and a few others we really don’t see these kind of things.

I know the French way of seeing food is… specific but we do have restaurants chains like Kelsey’s although they would never do this kind of communication.

Is it “the standard way” ?

Yeah, there’s nothing more like a one-of-a-kind bar full of friendly eccentric customers and friendly (except for Carla) eccentric staff than… a franchise restaurant selling McFood in the most homogenized way possible.

Stunningly bad campaign, IMNSHO. I’m not a Kelsey’s habitue anyway, but this alone would totally turn me off going there.
