Two fingers or one

{ March 30th, 2006 }

Many of you know that i am a recent convert to the world of Mac. I know many of you have heard this from me in the past but once again Mac has done it right.

So i have been on a laptop for about that last 6 years. In that time i have had dells, emachines, and a toshiba. Now i have my Mac Ibook. I am going to skip over all the other reasons i love it and boil it down to the one thing that they have done that has made my life a lot easier.

The Mac readers will take this for granted but it will surely make the PC users go out and search for a driver that will do this.

I have never been a fan of the scroll pad on any computer. But from time to time i have found myself with out the mouse and had to use the scroll pad. When I started I assumed that Mac scroll Pads are the same as PC scroll pads…..whoa big difference.

Mac’s have this feature called 2 fingered scrolling. Use one finger the mouse moves as you would expect. Use 2 fingers and the document moves ….vertically and horizontally…..yeah getting thru your spreadsheet just got easier, as did moving thru all of those lists that you need to navigate. This feature is such a welcome addition.

Ironnically this feature does not work 100% in Adobe Acrobat nor does it work with flash paper.

But for those massive excel files …..makes things very easy.

cheers

    Is there a way to activate this two finger scroll in Windows XP Media Center 2005? I love the iScroll function of the Macs.

    I am dying for this to be made available for PCs. I hate using my work PC, but can’t use my powerbook on our network (not allowed!). Roll on, iScroll for Windows!
